About Othello Five
Othello Five puts a fresh winning condition on the familiar stone-flipping board game. Place your stones to trap opposing pieces between matching stones, then turn those trapped pieces to your side. The main goal is to make a line of five consecutive stones, although removing every opposing piece can also secure the game.
You can face the computer or play with a friend, with three computer settings ranging from beginner-friendly to more strategic. The interface includes animations and shows the computer thinking, while stat tracking lets you review your play over time.
How to Play Othello Five
Click or tap an open board position to place your stone.
Trap opposing stones between your new stone and one already on the board to flip them.
Build five stones in a row, or leave the other player with no pieces, to win.
Choose an AI setting when playing alone, or share the board with a friend.
Tips & Tricks
- 1Look for placements that flip several opposing stones while also extending your own possible five-stone lines.
- 2Do not focus only on immediate captures; a small flip can create a stronger position for your next turn.
- 3When playing against the computer, use the easier setting to learn how trapping and line building work.
