About Dark Chess
Dark Chess puts a Chinese chess foundation into a different kind of board puzzle. Instead of following ordinary chess expectations, pieces interact through a rank-based capture rule, making each turn a question of position and survival.
A piece can take another piece only when it has the higher level. That unusual restriction changes how you protect your own chessmen and how you create useful captures. The aim is to keep enough pieces active while removing opposing pieces in the right order.
How to Play Dark Chess
Use the mouse to select and play pieces on the board.
Capture opposing pieces only when your piece has the higher level.
Plan each turn around the pieces that can still move and the captures available to you.
The game is lost if all your chess is eaten or your remaining pieces cannot move.
Tips & Tricks
- 1Do not sacrifice a high-level piece before checking which lower-level pieces it could capture later.
- 2Use available captures carefully, since removing one piece can leave another unable to move.
- 3Before committing a turn, consider whether the opposing side can immediately eat the piece you selected.
