Niche Shift

Niche Shift is a strategy puzzle set in a deep-blue ocean ecosystem. You begin by combining Plankton, then merge the resulting Krill into Fish and continue evolving through the food chain toward the Leviathan.

The unusual pressure comes from hunger and balance. Creatures at level 3 and above are living predators rather than ordinary tiles, and they become hungrier whenever you move. Merging them is also how you feed them; if they are left hungry, they turn into Bones that act as useless obstacles. Every swipe therefore changes both your available space and the health of the ecosystem.

Merge Plankton to produce Krill, then combine Krill to create Fish.

Continue merging creatures to advance upward through the food chain toward the Leviathan.

Feed level 3 and higher predators by merging them before hunger turns them into Bones.
