About Futoshiki
Futoshiki is a Japanese number puzzle with a structure similar to Sudoku. Fill every row and column with numbers from 1 through 5 without repeating a number, then use the inequality signs between cells to narrow down valid arrangements.
A puzzle generator supplies easy, medium, and hard challenges, and each generated board has one guaranteed solution. Notes mode can help you record possibilities while you work through the relationships between neighboring cells.
How to Play Futoshiki
Tap a cell and enter a number from 1 to 5.
Keep every number unique within its row and within its column.
Follow each greater-than or less-than sign between connected cells.
Tap the selected cell to switch notes mode on or off when tracking possibilities.
Complete the grid while satisfying all row, column, and inequality rules.
Tips & Tricks
- 1Use an inequality sign to eliminate numbers that cannot fit on one side of the pair.
- 2Check both the row and column before committing a number to a cell.
- 3Record candidate numbers in notes mode when several placements still appear possible.
