Fireboy and Watergirl 4 Crystal Temple sends the pair into a temple filled with crystal mirrors. These mirrors can teleport the characters to other locations, so reaching the exit involves understanding how the temple connects its spaces. Across 39 levels, the two heroes must cooperate to overcome the platform puzzles and arrive at the exit door.

Two players can share the adventure, with separate controls for each character. Watergirl uses AWD, and Fireboy moves with the arrow keys. The teamwork comes from guiding both heroes through the crystal-filled environment rather than treating the journey as a single-character platform game. If an attempt goes wrong, R restarts the current level.
