CrustRun puts a piece of bread in a simple escape challenge against dogs. The bread must jump over the animals while also avoiding a fall that would leave it vulnerable to being eaten. A mouse click controls the jump, so the main skill is choosing when to act and how much distance the jump should cover. The food-themed setting gives the small obstacle loop a clear purpose: keep the bread moving safely past each dog.

The game focuses on timing rather than a large collection of mechanics. Clicking for more time allows the bread to jump farther, which connects the length of the input to the obstacle ahead. A short response may not clear an animal, while a longer one can help the bread travel over it. The fun comes from judging each approach and using the click at the right moment to avoid both the dogs and the fall.
